Bodyscapes

In Bodyscapes, the human body is photographed at the threshold between anatomy and landscape. Cropped, darkened, and isolated from identity, the figure becomes a terrain of ridges, hollows, planes, and shifting surfaces.

Light is reduced to a narrow presence, revealing form selectively rather than describing it completely. Skin texture, gooseflesh, pores, and subtle changes in contour become as important as the larger geometry of the body. What first appears abstract gradually resolves into anatomy, and what is recognizable as anatomy can just as quickly return to abstraction.

The series is less concerned with the body as figure than with the uncertainty of scale and recognition. A torso becomes a horizon; a navel becomes a depression; muscle and bone become topography.

Bodyscapes occupies that unstable space between body and terrain, where the familiar becomes briefly unrecognizable and the human form is encountered as surface, structure, and place.
