B&W Fine Art Photography
Assignment specific or stock images may be commissioned as fine art single prints or editions for individual, commercial and corporate use. Various print processes are available and described below.
About the Print Process
Pigment Prints
Pigment prints, exemplified by the 'legs' image above, are available in sizes up to 150x300cm, in open or limited editions. Known for their permanence, these prints boast archival superiority due to the particulate nature of pigment inks, ensuring longevity against environmental elements. Various mounting methods are available to suit your preferences.
Gelatin Silver Prints
Crafted from film negatives, gelatin silver prints are meticulously hand-processed in the analog darkroom on Ilford fiber-based paper and toned in selenium for optimal preservation. Available in sizes up to 28x36cm, each print is mounted using acid-free cotton rag-board, adhering to museum-quality standards. Signature, edition number, and date adorn the mount below the print, while a sticker on the back provides detailed print and process information.
Digital Negative Gelatin Silver Prints
Digital Negative Gelatin Silver Prints:** These exceptional prints are born from digital images, transformed into large negatives and contact printed on gelatin silver fiber paper using traditional darkroom techniques. Despite the labor-intensive process, the resulting prints, available in sizes up to 28x36cm, are unparalleled in their beauty and quality.
